Many banks from around the world have started offering payments via Online Banking.

I would like your thoughts on the following:

1. Do merchants accepting such payments require accounts in each participating bank or is there some payment transfer mechanism setup ?
2. What is the financial/revenue models for such services (benefits to the merchants as compared to accepting credit card payments)?
3. How do merchants reconcile with payments processed at a number of banks in contrast to a single acquirer bank model for credit cards ?
4. How have online banking customers accepted this payment form in absence of facilities like credit, ability to recharge etc ?
5. How are B2B transactions supported (especially when large payers have a hierarchy _base_d approach for processing payments i.e an accountant may initiate a transaction whereas authorisations from seniors are required)?
