Growth Markets for Cards in Europe |

The largest and most developed credit cards markets in Europe are not necessarily where the fastest growth has been
recently and is expected to be in the next few years. For example, the UK credit cards market is experiencing a
slowdown in growth rates, though the absolute growth is still healthy as it comes from an already large base. Some of
the Southern European markets, such as Spain and Portugal, have recent new entrants who are expected to fuel
market growth. Other markets, such as Poland, Portugal and Greece are fairly new to revolving credit cards, and the
acceptance by the consumer appears to be high, opening the path for high growth rates.
