Cards in Eastern European Markets |
|

|
The Eastern European markets are new to credit, and the response has been enthusiastic thus far. Foreign lenders,
such as Cetelem, GE Consumer Finance and Citibank are making inroads into these new markets, and are educating
consumers to the opportunities of borrowing money. Credit cards, per se, have not developed yet in the Eastern
European markets, but other forms of borrowing - such as personal loans - have been welcomed with open arms by
consumers. The opportunities for credit card issuers can only be around the corner.
