Defending Against Phishing Attacks PDF Print E-mail
This is the second and final document in the "Phishing Threats And Responses" series. There are several technology solutions, business practices, and security procedures that help reduce the threat posed by phishing attacks. Of the technology solutions, email validation mechanisms offer the most promise. Specifications for this are still emerging, so supporting solutions like alerting services or Web validation are helpful in the meantime. Target companies should also move toward consistency and uniformity in their email and Web business personae while simultaneously engaging in customer awareness campaigns. However, phishing is only one aspect of a larger fraud problem, for which strong authentication of customers would be the most effective means to reduce overall risk levels. http://www.forrester.com/Research/Document/Excerpt/0,7211,34448,00.html
