ViVOtech Inc., a market leader in contactless payment readers, NFC payment, over the air (OTA) provisioning and transaction software is ranked at the top of ABI Research¹s latest Contactless Reader Vendor Matrix released this month.
ViVOtech also announced that it has reached the milestone of shipping over a quarter of a million readers to over 22 countries worldwide. All of the contactless readers ViVOtech has shipped are capable of accepting payments from cards, key fobs, and NFC enabled mobile phones supporting branded payment cards as well as retailer gift card and loyalty programs. ABI Research evaluated contactless reader vendors according to criteria that included: product and manufacturing innovation and feature set; key roles in developing and expanding the market through industry leadership and knowledge transfer; global capacity; reach and support; vertical market focus and product adoption, as well as cross-regional delivery and adoption. Contactless payment technology has already shown the potential to drive additional revenues and efficiency for all the key players in the transaction value chain," said senior analyst Jonathan Collins. "ViVOtech has proven functionality and flexibility in real world deployments that position the company as a leading innovator in the marketplace."
The Vendor Matrix is an analytical tool developed by ABI Research to provide a clear understanding of vendors' positions in specific markets. Vendors are assessed by ABI Research on the important parameters of "innovation" and "implementation" across several criteria, unique to each vendor matrix. In the Contactless Reader Vendor Matrix, ABI Research evaluated companies offering reader products that target contactless payment, ticketing, and near field communication (NFC)-related applications.
