Infosecurity Europe a Great Success PDF Print E-mail
Infosecurity Europe was a fantastic success and is now firmly established as the largest information security exhibition in Europe, with 6172 square metres of stand space (approx 68,500 sq ft) and 311 primary stand holders (compared to 280 in 2006) and over 360 exhibitors in total (including companies sharing stands).  Attendance broke all records with numbers up by 4.5% to 12,181 visitors (pre ABC audit) compared with 11,635 in 2006.  Exhibitors were delighted with the quality and seniority of visitors and this is reflected by the fact that 80% of next years stand space has already been booked!

Infosecurity Europe is a truly international event with almost a third of companies exhibiting coming from overseas with many using it as the gateway into Europe – a large contingent of companies exhibited from North America, Asia, Africa, Russia, Israel, Australia and of course mainland Europe.  Infosecurity also saw great interest from overseas visitors with almost 900 attending from as far a field as North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Africa and Europe.

The FREE education programme at Infosecurity Europe was more popular than ever, with standing room only in most of the presentations.   Every significant issue in information security was covered by over 100 speakers, who ranged from Lords and MPs to security experts and senior executives.   The speakers gave their insight and practical advice on how to tackle the hot issues and pain points facing organisations of every size from governments and large enterprises to SMEs.

"On January 2nd when I'm planning my year, the three days of Infosecurity Europe get blocked out", said Paul Simmonds, Global Information Security Director, ICI and Jericho Forum Board of Management.

The Lion’s Den at Infosecurity Europe was once again a huge success, with seven of the most exciting vendors pitching products to a panel of leading buyers and experts in the Information Security Industry. The Lion’s Panel chaired by Colonel John Doody also included Ray Stanton, Paul Simmonds, Colin Clark, John FitzGerald and Tony Lock; widely recognized as some of the best judges of security products in the world, and a tough panel to impress.  Secerno won as the panel felt that Secerno.SQL really had a compulsive offering that will provide clear and significant security benefits for the protection of data.

“Infosecurity Europe has a real buzz about it, you could feel the energy and enthusiasm in the air, and you only get this atmosphere at a successful event in a buoyant market with visitors coming to the show to do business.” Sam Jeffers,  Infosecurity Europe’s Event Manager said, “Each year the show surprises even us as organisers, it is a reflection of the needs of organisations to secure their business and reputations and the ability of the exhibitors here to provide the very best technology and services to meet the challenge.  The threats that organisations have to face are very real as recent events such as the TK Maxx security breach have shown, but the Information security industry has the ability to meet these threats and Infosecurity Europe is the place where security professionals can seek out all the latest best of breed technology and services to help them.  Once again the education programme was hugely popular, with a line up of security experts to rival any other event in the world.  We are also delighted with the mutually beneficial effect of the Jericho Forum running their Spring Conference on ‘Delivering the De-perimeterised Future’ alongside Infosecurity Europe.  The quality of visitors to Infosecurity Europe was truly exceptional this year with CIOs of high street banks attending and the exhibitor’s delight is reflected in 80% of the space for 2008 already being booked!”

The feeling of success reverberated around the walls of the Grand Hall Olympia with many exhibitors expressing their delight as their testimonials show:

Neil Hammerton, CEO, Email Systems commented, “Infosecurity Europe 2007 delivered a fantastic mix of end user and reseller opportunities and was consequently our best show in the past four years. The event was busy throughout the three days, ensuring that our stand received a steady stream of traffic for the duration of the show. Once again our promotional activity proved to be great value with Email Systems branded bags ubiquitous both inside and outside the venue. We have already booked ahead for 2008.”

Phil Higgins, CEO, Brookcourt Solutions commented, “Our sponsorship of the Education Programme at Infosecurity Europe really raised our profile at the show, we had a large numbers of CIOs visit our stand, including the CIOs from three of the UKs largest banks that simply does not happen at other shows."

Tim Hogarth, Marketing Manager, Clearswift
