This TowerGroup Research Note looks at the Single Euro Payments Area initiative (SEPA), and in particular, the changing landscape for European automated clearing houses (ACHs). The research examines the challenges SEPA presents and reviews the progress of the initiative so far.
It identifies several ACHs that are likely to emerge as winners from the expected consolidation. Based on consolidation of ACHs in other markets, the Research Note makes observations about the way competition and consolidation are likely to proceed in Europe.
