PayPoint, Arriva renew contract over ArrivaCard distribution PDF Print E-mail

Transport services organisation Arriva has prolonged its contract with UK retail bill payment network PayPoint. As a result customers within Arriva’s Yorkshire, Midlands, Shires & Essex, Scotland West, North West & Wales, North East and Southern Counties operating regions can continue purchasing their bus electronic ticket called ArrivaCard at local PayPoint outlets.

Arriva and PayPoint started their collaboration in June 2005. Since then, three million journey transactions were recorded by a PayPoint outlet in the Yorkshire region. PayPoint retailers earn 2 percent commission on Arriva transactions.

ArrivaCard cardholders pay for bus rides by placing their ArrivaCard on a ticket machine inside the bus and the driver deducts the cost of the ticket the user wants. A receipt is issued each time the user utilises the ArrivaCard so that the user knows how much money is left on the card. Users can buy any ticket, including Singles, Returns, Day and Weekly tickets.
