Foreign exchange company Travelex has launched the Cash Passport prepaid foreign currency card across the US on 1 May. The card enables travellers to load and lock-in their rate for British Pounds or Euros. Via Cash Passport, customers can withdraw money from ATMs or purchase goods and services at retailers that accept Debit MasterCard.

Customers can buy two cards with different account numbers and access the same amount of money. Thus, travellers are able to share cards or use one of the two cards as a back-up card, in case the other one is lost or stolen. In this latter case, the balance is protected and can be immediately replaced.Cash Passport features the Global Emergency Assistance option in case of lost wallets or passports, medical assistance, legal problems and translation assistance. The Travelex Cash Passport is available at over 100 Travelex retail locations across the US.
