Fair Isaac sets up anti-cybercrime forum PDF Print E-mail

Consulting services and enterprise decision management provider Fair Isaac launched an online community dedicated specifically to dealing with financial crime schemes including credit card fraud, data theft and counterfeit ATM cards.

The new Fair Isaac Fraud Alert Network Forum aims to provide an information and expert advice exchange environment where users share their professional expertise and past experiences for the benefit of the entire online community.

The initiative in itself is not new, given that an early version of the forum was launched in 2002 under the name of CardAlert Fraud Forum. In light of recently exposed massive data security breaches (such as the theft of over 40 million credit and debit card numbers from nine major US retailers), the new Fraud Alert Network Forum comes as an added opportunity for financial institutions to pool knowledge and expertise on counteracting financial criminal activities.

Members of the community can discuss details of various types of criminal attacks and share solutions. Law enforcement professionals, credit union and banking experts receive free membership. Access to the forum is granted after a validation process is conducted which requires users to disclose and authenticate their identity.
