The affiliate of the American Automobile Association AAA Texas has chosen online credit reports and products issuer Experian Consumer Direct's CreditCheck Select service for identity theft monitoring.

The initiative targets AAA Texas' 1.4 million members. CreditCheck Select features Experian online credit report, credit monitoring, e-mail alerts, as well as fraud resolution support.

Almost 8.3 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2005, a Federal Trade Commission survey reveals.
