Biometric security products developer Avalon Technology has initiated the distribution of a software-integrated biometric mouse to offer protection for children from websites revealing adult-oriented or offensive content. The biometric mouse is able to read the parents' fingerprints. Statistics indicate that 93 percent of Americans aged between 12 and 17 are internet users. 65 percent of high school students access inappropriate or illegal websites, and 31 percent of users in the 7th to 12th grade have lied about their age in order to be able to visit certain websites. The software package is being sold in 123 countries worldwide.
