TMG Expands Credit Union Prepaid Offering with Reloadable Cards PDF Print E-mail

Reporting solutions and card processing service provider The Members Group (TMG) has launched a general purpose reloadable card service named ATIRAreload available to its credit union clients in the US.

The new service provides cardholders and authorized users with a means to deposit money onto the cards, which can subsequently be used for purchases at all vendors who accept Visa debit cards and at ATMs for instant access to cash. Money can be deposited onto the new reloadable cards online or via direct deposit; alternatively, funds can be transferred from existing credit, checking or savings accounts.

In the near future, TMG is also planning to offer ATIRAreload cardholders yet another means of loading cash onto their cards, by granting them access to the Visa ReadyLink reload network. A bill payment option for cardholders is also in the works.

The card is marketed primarily at three market sectors: teenagers and their parents (as it teaches financial responsibility and provides security due to its prepaid nature), the travel market (mainly for security purposes, as the theft of such a card does not compromise the cardholder’s identity) and the underserved sector, made up of people who do not qualify for a traditional debit or credit card.
