Secure electronic payment provider VeriFone announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: former American Express president and director Jeffrey E. Stiefler and former KPMG CEO and deputy chairman Robert W. Alspaugh. Both Alspaugh and Stiefler are set to join the VeriFone Audit Committee, while the former has also been appointed a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, in addition to his position on the Board of Directors. Both executives bring extensive management skills and experience to VeriFone: in addition to his position at American Express, Jeffrey Stiefler served as advisor for two private equity companies and currently holds several top management and advisory positions in various capital and investment holding firms. Robert Alspaugh worked as CEO for audit, tax and advisory service provider KPMG and was a board of directors member for Ball Corp. and Autoliv (both of which are Fortune 500 companies). Alspaugh and Stiefler will both join VeriFone starting 1 September. |
