US provider of computer software Intuit has released a beta version of Quicken Beam, a service that enables users to receive instant access to all their account balances and recent account activities via their mobile phones. Once users set up their account, they receive SMS bill reminders and alerts for low balances or when a certain transaction has gone through. Moreover, the clients can also set up alerts for unusual spending.Because the service is not being offered through financial institutions, any consumer can sign up for the service directly on the company’s website. In order to set up the service, consumers give their user name and password from their financial institution. The service is available for download and trial at Intuit.com. Quicken Beam does not require data entry, multiple login screens or a Web browser to use. The software is available for download and trial at Intuit.com. Quicken Beam is a follow-on to Intuit’s online banking tools Quicken and Quicken Online. |
