E-commerce software provider for small and medium-sized businesses Miva Merchant has teamed up with PCI compliance service provider ControlScan in a bid to render assistance to merchants which seek to fulfill security demands set out by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

As part of the two companies’ strategic partnership, Miva is to be granted access to ControlScan's PCI compliance package, which comprises a PCI Self Assessment Questionnaire, an on-demand security scanning service and a series of certification seals targeted specifically at the e-commerce market. In the wake of Miva’s partnership with ControlScan, the company’s management expects an increase in the number of users for its online shopping service as well as a lower rate of shopping cart abandonment.
