Data-centric security solutions provider Packet General teamed up with payments and transactions provider MasterCard to provide the latter with its security solutions with a view to achieving Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance.

MasterCard is to employ Packet General’s secure server appliances to secure its application data and achieve regulatory compliance. The transaction processing company – which is one of the initiators of the PCI-DSS system - is to deploy the "PCI-General for MySQL" application in order to validate its Secure Server Appliance (SSA) concept. MasterCard officials expressed their hopes regarding the rapid implementation of the new data security solution and its secure integration into MasterCard’s server structure.
