MasterCard has certified Netherlands-based Collis' card simulator and Collis brand test tool for terminal integration process (TIP) and easy test cards (ETEC) simulation. ETEC cards allow for tests that evaluate whether terminal payment applications comply with terminal requirements. The two tools can be used to assess the functional behaviour of any EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) card-terminal interface.  

The tools are able to read all data (image) from an EMV card and use this image as a (modifiable) input. Any errors can be simulated to test the system’s response to an error. Collis has also created 'soft' card images needed by MasterCard members for TIP. The ETEC qualification covers contact cards such as Subset 1, Interoperability Cards and Maestro UK. The Collis card simulator and Collis brand test tools can also be used during development before delivery for TIP certification. They include card cryptography from MasterCard, Visa and JCB.
